KHERAU started its career as a project in May 2007, delighted by the old traditional Basque tunes. Since then, the band has made an attempt to keep on both with traditional songs and own compositions, always, charming the former ones with contemporary interpretations and combining their own songs with rock and pop styles as they use several musical instruments from all over the world.

It’s been fourteen years, eleven since the first album MUNDUAN ORTOZIK (Baga-Biga 2010) and after it AUKHERA (Gaua 2014).  The preproduction of the last album PHROLCK (Elkar, 2021) started in 2018 but the production and release were seriously delayed because of CoVID pandemics and lockdown. This last work shows again the personality and sound of Kherau which, in the last years, have attracted the attention of the audience and the respect of the critics.
